Confidentiality

The Stunt Achievement Centre respects your confidentiality.

All information and records are kept strictly confidential. We will not normally release any information about you to anyone, except at your request and with your written authorisation.

The duty of confidentiality owed by the psychologist to a client is a fundamental one. It is only possible to reveal information to others with the consent of the client.

The pychologists within this practice, as members of the Australian Psychological Society, adhere to the ethical practices and standards set by the Australian Psychological Society.

There are legal or contractual limits of confidentiality, which include the fact that a psychologist will make disclosures in circumstances where:

  • not to disclose the confidential information would result in a clear danger to the person or to others:
  • the information is communicated only for professional purposes and only to persons legitimately concerned with the cases:
  • the confidential information relates to minors or others who are unable to give voluntary, informed consent; or
  • a court demands access to information

Protecting Your Privacy

The Student Achievement Centre is committed to providing you with the highest levels of service. This includes protecting your privacy. From 21 December 2001, we were bound by new sections of the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, that set out a number of principles concerning the protection of your personal information.

The following is the information that the Privacy Act requires us to communicate to all of our clients:

The Student Achievement Centre provides a range of psychological and educational services. Personal information held by The Student Achievement Centre may include your name, date of birth, current and previous addresses, telephone/mobile phone number, e-mail address, credit card details, occupation and medical benefits fund details.

When making an appointment, if you choose not to provide personal information, we may not be able to provide you with the services you require, or the level of service on which we pride ourselves. The Student Achievement Centre collects personal information in a number of ways, including directly from you, when you provide information by phone, referral letters or in documents such as the client detail form.

How we use your personal information

Your personal information may be used in order to:

  • provide the services you require
  • administer and manage those services, including charging, billing and collecting debts
  • data collection, research and development of our services. In this case identifying information would not be used.
